Westcrowns is on the run for a second Gold medal this year
Following Westcrowns Contracting Services’ success at the South Lanarkshire Business Awards earlier this year, the company has been nominated for the National Training Award 2008, another prestigious competition.
Recognised as the most prestigious training awards in the UK, the National Training Awards celebrate organizations and individuals that demonstrate outstanding business and personal development trough investment in training.
Based on extensive research and on feedback from previous years, the National Training Awards have introduced 6 Award categories in this year competition. These include:
- Individual Award
- Partnership and Collaboration Award
- Large Employer Award
- Medium Employer Award
- Small Employer Award
- Providing education and training Award
Over the last couple of months, Westcrowns have heavily invested in Training Schools for their flooring and their glass divisions. Finding skills shortage in the workforce, Westcrowns have successfully developed tailored made training programmes, working in strong partnership with Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire Council and Routes to Work South.
As a result, over 30 people from the local area of Rutherglen benefited from custom-made instruction with the successful candidates now being full-employed by the company.
For those reasons, Westcrowns Contracting Services is nominated in the Partnership and Collaboration Award category, our partners being:
- Scottish Enterprise
- South Lanarkshire Council
- John Wheatley College
- Routes to Work South.
